Identifikasi Tanin pada Tumbuh-tumbuhan di Indonesia

Abstract

Senyawa metabolit sekunder tanin ialah suatu zat organik yang cukup kompleks serta terdiri atas senyawa fenolik yang terkandung pada berbagai jenis tanaman di Indonesia. Senyawa tanin dapat disebut sebagai asam galotanat atau asam tanat yang memiliki berbagai macam khasiat seperti sebagai antidiare, antioksidan, antibakteri, dan astringent. Tujuan: Tujuan dari artikel ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi senyawa tanin yang terkandung pada delapan spesies tanaman yang terdapat di Indonesia. Metode: Metode yang digunakan yaitu tinjauan literatur dengan teori-teori yang relevan. Kesimpulan: Hasil dari tinjauan dapat disimpulkan bahwa delapan spesies tanaman yang terdapat di Indonesia yaitu tanaman Mangrove (Sonneratia alba), Bungur Muda (Lagerstroemia speciosa Pers.), Manggis (Garcinia mangostana L.), Kelapa (Cocos nucifera L.), Belimbing Wuluh (Averrhoa bilimbi L.), Jambu Biji (Psidium guajava L. var. Pomifera), Kemiri (Aleurites moluccana (L.) Willd), dan Paku (Phymatodes scolopendria (Burm.) Ching) positif mengandung senyawa Tanin. Kata Kunci : Tanin, Identifikasi, Metabolit Sekunder, Tumbuhan
