Jergas carcelarias: aproximación desde una perspectiva lingüística

Abstract

Las jergas carcelarias son un ejemplo de la variación de nuestro lenguaje que adoptan recursos semánticos, hacen uso de un lenguaje metafórico y son únicamente interpetables cuando se pertenece a la comunidad en la que se utiliza la variante. En este artículo, se revisará el concepto de variación lingüística en torno a jerga y argot, se abordarán las características sociolingüísticas de los reclusos en las cárceles, vinculándolos con la teoría de Halliday (1976), en la que se postula que en una anti-sociedad (espacio marginal de la sociedad) se produce un anti-lenguaje, que adopta características metafóricas. Por ello, se analizarán términos utilizados en la jerga carcelaria de tres países latinoamericanos en torno a las formas literarias que los conceptos adoptan.
