Abstract

La caries constituye el mayor problema de salud bucal, siendo diagnosticada luego de la verificación clínica de algún grado de destrucción de la estructura dental sin incorporar ningún tipo de medida preventiva. Por lo tanto, en ocasiones es el proceso de remineralización y desmineralización los que actúan evitando su instalación (Bordoni, 2010) siendo procesos naturales que se encuentran en balance y ocurren de manera frecuente en el medio oral. Si se produce un desequilibrio, la desmineralización del esmalte está altamente comprometida. El hecho de que la caries de fosas y fisuras constituya la mayor parte de los casos en niños, sugiere la necesidad de disponer de un material y una técnica adecuada para facilitar la resolución de dicho tipo de lesiones por medio de maniobras sencillas y con una óptima relación costo/rendimiento. Uno de los elementos es el Péptido Caseína Fosfato (CPP) y Fosfato de Calcio Amonio (ACP) que intervienen en el balance del proceso remineralización del diente y tiene por objeto reparar la pérdida de minerales (Reynolds, E. 2009). El propósito de esta investigación in vitro fue analizar la acción del Caseín fosfato (barniz, “Mi Varnish”) sobre la remineralización dentaria, en surcos cariados a través de dos instrumentos de análisis el Espectrofotómetro y Edax, permitiendo evaluar su eficacia preventiva.
