Kinder wachsen in einer Kultur der Digitalität auf, die grundlegend durch Informatik gestaltet ist. Bereits grundschulische Bildung steht daher vor der Herausforderung, informatische Kompetenzen integrativ einerseits in den Sachunterricht und andererseits fächerübergreifend zu implementieren, um die Schüler*innen zu befähigen, in ihrer informatisch geprägten Lebenswelt mündig zu handeln und an ihr partizipieren zu können. Dieser Band zeigt auf, dass sich das gemeinsame Forschungsfeld von Sachunterrichtsdidaktik und Informatikdidaktik zur Einbettung informatischer Bildung in die Grundschule und spezifisch in den Sachunterricht in der Konsolidierungsphase befindet, und dass in diesem Zusammenhang durchaus sehr unterschiedliche Herangehensweisen zur Realisierung des Vorhabens existieren. Sowohl Autor:innen aus der Sachunterrichtsdidaktik als auch aus der Informatikdidaktik tragen (fach-)didaktische Konzeptionen, bildungspolitische Diskussionen, empirische Befunden sowie schul- und ausbildungspraktische Berichte zu diesem Band bei.
