Abstract

Introduccion: La Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Neonatales es uno de los principales servicios que brinda las atenciones necesarias y vitales en recien nacidos, estos pacientes presentan un sistema inmunologico fragil y es necesario mantener un estricto control sanitario en superficies de contacto con la finalidad de evitar la aparicion de infecciones nosocomiales. Objetivo: Determinar la frecuencia de bacterias y hongos en superficies inertes de la UCIN. Material y metodos: Se realizaron aislamientos microbiologicos mensuales en superficies inertes: tarjas, cuneros, ventiladores y tomas de oxigeno en diferentes agar para su crecimiento e identificacion por pruebas bioquimicas. Resultados: Se encontro una prevalencia de bacterias Gram positivas de 41.66% (primer muestreo), seguida de 75.6% (segundo muestreo), 69.23% (tercer muestreo) y 74.35% (cuarto muestreo) con mayor presencia en cuneros, las bacterias Gram negativas mostraron una presencia de 41.66% en el primer muestreo, seguida de 17.07, 17.3 y 12.82% respectivamente, sobre todo en tarjas. Los hongos se mantuvieron por debajo de 16.68%. De los microorganismos Gram positivos prevalecio S. epidermidis (48.73%), seguido de S. saprophyticus (10.75%); los Gram negativos fueron Acinetobacter baumannii (10.12%), Klebsiella sp. (2.53%) y Pseudomona sp. (1.26%); de los hongos aislados se observo Candida sp. (9.49%). Conclusiones: Las bacterias Gram positivas se encuentran con mayor frecuencia en cuneros, prevaleciendo S. epidermidis.
