Mucinosis folicular. Tres escenarios para su enfoque

Abstract

EnglishFollicular mucinosis is a rare tissue reaction pattern histologically characterized by the accumulation of mucin in the follicular epithelium, it can occur in primary/idiopathic or secondary form in association with mycosis fungoides/cutaneous T-cell lymphoma and other neoplastic or inflammatory diseases. The clinical manifestations, the histological findings and the molecular biology techniques aimed at determining the clonality of T cells are not definitive in the differentiation of one form or another. Here we present a case and three discussion scenarios in order that the reader can understand and interpret appropriately the meaning of follicular mucinosis.
