Introduction. The topic of the gender dimension and gender policy of modern religious fundamentalism in Russian humanities remains poorly clarified. Moreover, there are practically no works in which the gender issues of religious fundamentalism are considered based on the analysis of its connections with modern politics and economics, which involuntarily suggests the idea of whether this is a conscious avoidance of a systemic understanding of gender. Content. The article reveals the reasons for the actualization of gender issues in religious fundamentalism. A definition of religious fundamentalism in its gender dimension is proposed. The main vectors and specifics of the gender policy of religious fundamentalism in the context of systemic modernization and transformation of interpersonal relations are considered. The emphasis is on the pronounced connection between gender and religious fundamentalism in the public sphere. It is noted that the gender projects of religious fundamentalism through the discourses of the “traditional family” and “traditional sexual morality” broadcast structural alternatives to the ideology and practice of neoliberalism, and promote a course towards the revival of patriarchal hierarchical structures and order in politics, economics and social structure. Conclusions. In the gender dimension, religious fundamentalism is a protest reaction to the structural restructuring of traditional societies caused by Western neoliberalism. Since his idea of a legitimate and moral order is linked to patriarchal structural principles and paternalistic values, the focus of his criticism is primarily on individual sexual morality, rational bureaucratization and depersonalization. As a result, in its gender dimension, modern religious fundamentalism is revealed as an ideology of the “moral order” of men and takes the form of “neopatriarchy”.
