Die European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) zielt darauf ab, eine einheitliche, offene Umgebung für die gemeinsame Nutzung von Forschungsdaten, -werkzeugen und -diensten in verschiedenen Disziplinen zu schaffen. Sie wurde 2015 von der Europäischen Kommission ins Leben gerufen und wird von Initiativen auf nationaler und europäischer Ebene unterstützt. Das 2021 eingerichtete EOSC Support Office Austria koordiniert die nationalen Beiträge, fördert die Open-Science-Politik und unterstützt die Integration der österreichischen Forschungsinfrastruktur in die EOSC. Im Einklang mit der EU-Politik und den SDGs der Vereinten Nationen fördert es Österreichs Engagement für ein kollaboratives und nachhaltiges Forschungsökosystem.
The European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) aims to create a federated, open environment for sharing research data, tools, and services across disciplines. Launched in 2015 by the European Commission, it is supported by national and European-level initiatives. Established in 2021, the EOSC Support Office Austria coordinates national contributions, promotes Open Science policies, and fosters integration of Austrian research infrastructure into the broader EOSC. Aligned with EU policies and the UN SDGs, it advances Austria’s commitment to a collaborative and sustainable research ecosystem.
