Abstract

Na história religiosa, e em particular na história do cristianismo, as vozes das mulheres têm estado particularmente ausentes. Esta obra partiu do desafio de perscrutar o que as mulheres portuguesas têm dito sobre si próprias, em vários contextos de vida religiosa e espiritual, consagrada ou laical, e não o que sobre elas se disse, escreveu ou representou. Reuniram-se, para o efeito, um conjunto de estudos sobre temáticas que vão das leituras, da produção literária e das estratégias discursivas de algumas monjas e leigas, ao seu ímpeto fundacional ou ainda às expressões musicais existentes e desenvolvidas nos mosteiros.
