Desenvolvimento embrionário do peixe-zebra

Abstract

Nos últimos anos o peixe-zebra (Danio rerio) tem-se tornado um modelo científico com interesse crescente em diversas áreas. Para além da facilidade em ser mantido e reproduzido em laboratório, o facto de ter um desenvolvimento embrionário rápido, elevada fecundidade e de os seus embriões serem grandes, transparentes e não mucilaginosos propulsionaram o seu uso em estudos de embriologia. O desenvolvimento embrionário do peixe-zebra tem um grande potencial para ser usado como referência na lecionação de disciplinas relacionadas com biologia do desenvolvimento tanto a nível do ensino superior como a nível do secundário; no entanto, os trabalhos de referência na área, além de não estarem disponíveis em língua portuguesa, são complexos e demasiado aprofundados. Assim, o objetivo deste trabalho foi descrever o desenvolvimento embrionário do peixe-zebra com uma linguagem científica adequada a vários níveis de ensino.
