Abstract

Os projetos são tarefas complexas que envolvem os alunos em criação, resolução de problemas, tomada de decisões e atividades investigativas. Os alunos trabalham de forma autónoma por períodos longos e preparam produtos ou apresentações realistas. Outras características definidoras do trabalho de projeto incluem a autenticidade dos temas e conteúdos, bem como a avaliação dos resultados, o papel facilitador e não diretivo dos professores, a existência de objetivos educacionais claros, a aprendizagem cooperativa, a reflexão e o desenvolvimento de competências importantes no mundo real. Falar de projetos não é, de modo algum, falar de um assunto novo. Há uma longa tradição de “realização de projetos” na escola que é muitas vezes sinónimo de incorporar atividades práticas no ensino, desenvolver temas interdisciplinares, efetuar viagens de estudo ou implementar investigações em laboratório, por exemplo. A variedade de práticas que se podem encontrar sob o rótulo de PBL (Project Based Learning) torna realmente difícil decidir o que é e o que não é PBL, isto, é saber se estamos ou não perante um “verdadeiro projeto”.
