Abstract

The Community Service Program of Thematic Field Work (KKN-T) Batch V by the Institute of Christian Religion Affairs (IAKN) Toraja was conducted over approximately two months under the theme “Strengthening Mental Health Based on Local Wisdom”. One of the implementation sites was the Sapan Subdistrict, Buntu Pepasan District, North Toraja Regency. This program aimed to realize the Tri Dharma of Higher Education through experimental and participatory methods. A key initiative, “Sahabat Disabilitas” (Friends of the Disabled), focused on empowering individuals with special needs and widows in the local community. The program followed five stages: location survey, program design, deployment, implementation, and evaluation. The results positively impacted both the community and KKN-T participants, fostering humanitarian awareness by recognizing persons with disabilities as Imago Dei—equal in dignity to all humans—and encouraging social and spiritual attention toward widows as integral members of society.
