Finorte F2024: variedad de trigo harinero para el noroeste de México

Abstract

El Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Agrícolas y Pecuarias (INIFAP) liberó una nueva variedad de trigo harinero (Triticum aestivum), resistente a la roya de la hoja, recomendada principalmente para el norte de Sinaloa, con el fin de sustituir a Ónavas F2009, variedad que perdió su resistencia a esta enfermedad. Las evaluaciones se condujeron bajo Riego rodado en los ciclos otoño-invierno 2021-2022 al 2023-24 en el Campo Experimental Norman E. Borlaug (CENEB), localizado en el valle del yaqui, Sonora. Se evaluó el rendimiento de grano, la calidad industrial y la caracterización fenotípica. El manejo agronómico se llevó a cabo de acuerdo al protocolo institucional (Camacho et al., 2004). El contenido de proteína y de panza blanca en grano se estimó con el equipo NIR-PERTEN 9100 y prueba visual respectivamente, el volumen de pan estimado en una muestra equivalente a 100 gr de harina al 14% de humedad y expresado en cm3. Y la caracterización fenotípica se basó en los descriptores de la Unión Internacional para la Protección de Obtenciones Vegetales (Upov, 2012). FINORTE F2024, mostró un rendimiento de grano superior al testigo cuando se maneja con dos y cuatro riegos de auxilio con 3.8 y 6.1 % respectivamente. Además, FINORTE F2024 posee el 2.5% más de proteína en grano, el 8.5% más de volumen de pan y es más tolerante a la presencia de panza blanca. Se considera que FINORTE F2024 contribuye a la sostenibilidad del trigo en el noroeste de México.
