Análise de Haemoproteus em pomba

Abstract

Este relatório descreve o caso de uma pomba (Columba livia) diagnosticada com o hemoparasita Haemoproteus, identificado por meio de um hemograma. O Haemoproteus é transmitido por insetos hematófagos, como a "mosca do pombo" (Pseudolynchia canariensis), e, embora geralmente causa poucos sintomas, pode levar a problemas mais graves, como anemia e perda de peso. No caso analisado, o hemograma revelou trombocitose, linfopenia, leucocitose por heterofilia e presença do parasita nos linfócitos, confirmando a infecção. Embora comum em aves, a infecção não representa risco para humanos. O diagnóstico foi feito através do esfregaço sanguíneo, uma ferramenta importante para identificar esse tipo de parasita.
