Abstract

Este estudo e de cunho transversal, quantitativo e descritivo, realizado atraves de uma pesquisa de campo, desenvolvida por meio de questionarios, objetivando-se identificar o conhecimento dos profissionais de enfermagem sobre as infeccoes mais frequentes relacionadas ao uso do cateter venoso central de duplo lumen, utilizado por pacientes submetidos a hemodialise, em uma clinica do agreste de Pernambuco. A pesquisa foi realizada com profissionais de saude da equipe de enfermagem da Clinica de Nefrologia SOS Rim, apos assinatura do Termo de Consentimento Livre e Esclarecido por parte dos profissionais participantes. Os dados foram coletados nas dependencias da clinica, em uma sala reservada, atraves de um questionario individual composto de 15 perguntas claras e objetivas, precedidos de esclarecimento sobre as perspectivas do estudo. Posteriormente, os dados obtidos atraves do questionario, foram codificados em planilha eletronica Excel, e analisados pelo Software SPSS, Versao 11.0 e apresentados em forma de tabela e figuras. Os resultados revelam falhas quanto ao manuseio e manipulacao excessiva do dispositivo CDL, pelos profissionais de enfermagem e, tambem, que as recomendacoes dadas pelos mesmos aos pacientes e seus familiares sobre a minimizacao dos riscos extra hospitalares sao deficientes. Assim, conclui-se que ha necessidade de melhor treinamento para aprimoramento a assistencia desses profissionais a esses pacientes.
