Abstract

El fenómeno racial en Cuba tiene sus raíces en la colonización, fue precisamente el racismo y la convicción de la superioridad racial lo que sustentó ideológicamente al régimen esclavista, (Alvarado J, 1996, p.37), no obstante, se considera que, en lo sucesivo, la abolición de la esclavitud no fue suficiente para eliminar lo que se acentuó como base ideológica y cultural de la nación cubana. Conocer la historicidad de estos acontecimientos, a través de dos grandes intelectuales cubanos del siglo XX como Fernando Ortiz y Gustavo Urrutia, constituye un problema educativo. Las autoras reflexionan acerca de cómo es valorado la identidad racial en Fernando Ortiz y Gustavo Urrutia, problema relacionado a la identidad racial en su devenir histórico como problema educativo.
