Abstract

Body and training are maintained in a dialectical link. As much as it is legitimate to analyze the training processes in a multidirectional study, be it the symbolic aspects or a more empirical approach, it is of equal importance to try to understand the influences of training on the symbolic positions of the body, and from the viewpoint of the learner himself. After having located, in a world of great changes, the stigma and scars that the body can carry, as traces of a difficult existence, be it an erring, a no-man’s land or desacralization, isolation etc., we will demonstrate, with the help of two field cases, how, in a training environment, these painful burdens can either attenuate or on the contrary, be increased tenfold.
