Cervantes lector en las Novelas ejemplares

Abstract

A long and rich critical tradition has revealed the stamp of major literary works in the style of Novelas ejemplares. Nethertheless, beyond the standard poetical genres, of utmost importance is primordial, one finds signs of works which, through their variety and singularity, present a new Cervantes. Cervantes-the-reader is very wide and spans legislative or religious-toned texts, selections of beffe, agricultural books for example. Be it the memorisation of some lines in prose or verse, or it an attentive and specific perusal of ampler volumes or recent publications, a lot of examples open new vistas into Cervantes création.
