La gestación bajomedieval del derecho de resistencia en Castilla: modelos interpretativos

Abstract

El derecho de resistencia suele ser objeto de atención preferente a partir de la expansión que experimentó en el pensamiento político humanista. Sin embargo, tal como se ha pretendido mostrar en este trabajo, tuvo una signifi cativa presencia en la teoría y en la práctica política de la Castilla bajomedieval. La consideración de esta teoría y de esta práctica ubicada en su contexto cultural permite establecer, tal como se ha planteado, cuatro modelos teóricos, dentro de cada uno de los cuales el derecho de resistencia es susceptible de recibir una interpretación particular. De entre esos cuatro modelos establecidos y que, en esencia, pueden simplifi carse en el de la mediación teológico-eclesiástica, el del pacto, el del absolutismo y el de la libertad individual, resulta evidente el largo predominio del primero de ellos. Este predominio, además de constatarse desde el punto de vista cronológico, también se comprueba por la presencia de su toma en consideración en el marco de aplicación dominante de alguno de los otros modelos.
