Abstract

Les corridos et plusieurs romans donnent à voir ce qu'il y a d'unique chez Pancho Villa comme caudillo : la fusion de sa figure avec les aspirations et décisions de ses soldats a engendré des fidélités à toute épreuve. Par le biais d'images très simples, ou d'anecdotes terribles comme la fin de Vâmonos con Pancho Villa, de Rafael F. Munoz, on peut percevoir la dynamique du phénomène historique qu'était Villa : toujours en mouvement, toujours dans une action qui apporte un ordre et un sens à l'apparent chaos révolutionnaire. Les guerriers de Villa savaient que la Bola n'était pas un chaos, que c'était une composition unique faite de volontés individuelles, où l'important était la liberté avec laquelle chacun avait choisi de rejoindre Villa et la révolution, même dans les pires moments du villisme, de 19 16 au début de 1920.
