
Revision of the group II of Alphasida (Glabrasida) Escalera, 1910 (subgenus Pedarasida Reitter, 1917, partim) (Coleoptera, Tenebrionidae, Asidini). The group II of the subgenus Glabrasida Escalera, 1910, is revised. This group includes 12 species and one subspecies, the majority gathered by Reitter in the subgenus Pedarasida Reitter, 1917. Alphasida (Glabrasida) vidali Antoine, 1927, and Alphasida (G.) lapini Kocher, 1966, are included in this group. Alphasida (Elongasida) inesperata (Escalera, 1921) becomes Alphasida (G.) inesperata. Asida barbara Allard, 1968, becomes Alphasida (Glabrasida) barbara (Allard), stat. rev., and the synonymy with Alphasida (G.) tangeriana (Solier, 1836), is suppressed. Alphasida (G.) grossa sicula (Solier, 1836) becomes Alphasida (G.) sicula sicula (Solier), stat. rev. Alphasida (G.) cossyrensis Reitter, 1917, recovers its specific rank and the synonymy with Alphasida (G.) grossa (Solier) being suppressed. Alphasida (G.) grossa melitana Reitter, 1894, becomes Alphasida (G.) sicula melitana Reitter, 1894, n. stat. Lectotypes are designated for Asida barbara Allard, 1869, A. cariosicollis Solier, 1836, A. grossa Solier, 1836, A. sicula Solier, 1836, A. syriaca Allard, 1869, and A. tangeriana Solier, 1836. Alphasida gregoirei Antoine, 1933, described as Pedarasida, is excluded from this group and is incorporated into group V (fortitertricostatae).
