Problemática del libro y la lectura en America latina

Abstract

Les freins à la diffusion et donc à la production du livre en Amérique latine sont principalement le taux élevé d'analphabétisme et le faible pouvoir d'achat d'une grande partie de la population. Cependant des maisons d'édition puissantes ont pu s'établir dans certains pays et les moyens de publication se développent. Aujourd'hui, malgré la concurrence de nouveaux média, la télévision et la radio en particulier, qui sont réputés encourager la paresse naturelle des lecteurs et d'en raréfier le nombre, on assiste néanmoins à un accroissement sensible du nombre de titres publiés et du nombre des écrivains. Cette situation paradoxale est loin d'incliner au pessimisme.
