Abstract

El empleo de probióticos en el agua de cultivos acuícolas ha representado mejoras sustanciales en los rendimientos y en la calidad del agua. En este estudio se evaluó el desempeño del probiótico Lactiplantibacillus plantarum en el cultivo del camarón Penaeus vannamei entre las etapas de desarrollo nauplio a juvenil. Se utilizaron 10.000 nauplios distribuidos en dos tratamientos, desarrollados en estanques de cemento hasta llegar a la etapa de postlarva, cuando fueron traslados a estanques de geomembranas. En el tratamiento T1 se administró el probiótico en el agua de cultivo con una concentración de 109 UFC/ml, en una dosis inicial de 10 ml, que se incrementó gradualmente cada 15 d hasta alcanzar 50 ml; el tratamiento T2 (control) no recibió probiótico. Las variables evaluadas fueron: peso final (PF), longitud total final (LT), conversión alimenticia (FCA) y tasa de mortalidad (TM). Los resultados para T1 fueron: 4,42 ± 0,2 g (PF); 8,04 ± 0,12 cm (LT); 0,88 (FCA) y 10% (TM). Mientras que para T2 se alcanzaron los siguientes valores 3,76 g ± 0,2 (PF); 7,04 cm ± 0,13 (LT); 0,91 (FCA) y 40% (TM), encontrándose que en el T1 las variables PF, LT y TM tuvieron diferencias significativas con respecto al T2. Los valores promedio de los parámetros abióticos fueron: oxígeno disuelto 5,22 (T1) y 5,73 mg/L (T2); temperatura 29,2 (T1) y 29,9°C (T2); y pH 7,32 (T1) y 7,2 (T2). Se concluye que el uso del probiótico L. plantarum en el agua del cultivo es una alternativa viable para mejorar la producción de camarones P. vannamei durante su etapa de crecimiento.
