Abstract

La investigación buscó analizar el acoso moral en el contexto organizacional desde la disciplina de la orientación. Se llevó a cabo en la sede administrativa de una cadena de supermercado/tienda por departamento de la ciudad de Maracaibo. Fue un estudio descriptivo, de campo, con diseño no experimental, transeccional. La población fue censal, conformada por 43 empleados. Se utilizó un cuestionario validado por juicio de expertos con un índice de confiabilidad según Coeficiente Alfa Cronbach de 0,853. En los resultados no se evidencia alto porcentaje de comportamientos que constituyen acoso laboral y cuando se presentan, el autor del hostigamiento principalmente es el supervisor. El perfil de las características de personalidad que favorecen situaciones de acoso laboral, se ubica en categoría media para el acosador y baja para el acosado. Sobre los factores generadores de riesgo de acoso, se encuentran en categoría alta la ausencia de interés, apoyo y relación con los supervisores. Las estrategias de afrontamiento ante el acoso, están en la categoría media, a excepción de la confrontación que estuvo en categoría baja. Se concluye que el acoso laboral es un fenómeno que daña psicológicamente al empleado y afecta la integridad del trabajador.
