FORMULASI DAN EVALUASI MUTU FISIK MASKER GEL EKSTRAK DAUN BELIMBING WULUH DENGAN VARIASI KONSENTRASI Na CMC

Abstract

Jerawat merupakan komedo hitam yang terinfeksi. Salah satu cara mengatasi jerawat pada wajah yang paling sederhana dan umum dilakukan adalah dengan menggunakan masker yang mengandung antibakteri. Flavonoid pada daun belimbing wuluh (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) dapat berperan sebagai antibakteri. Berdasarkan kandungan senyawa flavonoid pada daun belimbing wuluh (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) tersebut berpotensi untuk dikembangkan menjadi masker gel yang dapat mengatasi jerawat secara praktis dan efektif. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengevaluasi dampak variasi konsentrasi Na CMC terhadap karateristik fisik gel. Masker gel dibuat dengan metode dispersi langsung dengan mengembangkan Na CMC FI 3%, FII 4%, FIII 6% dengan air pada suhu 70°C kemudian dicampur dengan bahan lain seperti propilen glikol, nipagin dan aquadest. Setelah sediaan masker gel terbentuk, dilakukan evaluasi mutu fisik meliputi uji organoleptis, homogenitas, pH, viskositas, daya sebar dan daya lekat. Dari evaluasi mutu fisik didapatkan hasil formula I kental, formula II dan III sangat kental. Formula I, II, III menghasilkan sediaan yang homogen, sesuai dengan pH kulit, viskositas dan daya lekat yang tinggi, serta daya sebar yang rendah. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa ketiga konsentrasi gelling agent mempengaruhi mutu fisik masker gel. Perbedaan konsentrasi gelling agent mempengaruhi viskositas. Viskositas yang tinggi berpengaruh pada daya lekat menjadi tinggi dan daya sebar yang rendah.
