Seletividade de herbicidas para açaizeiro

Abstract

O açaizeiro (Euterpe oleracea, Arecaceae) é uma palmeira nativa da Amazônia tradicionalmente explorada no sistema extrativista e cujos frutos são destinados à produção de bebida conhecida como vinho de açaí. Em razão do consumo crescente o extrativismo não atende o aumento da demanda e o açaizeiro passou a ser cultivado em áreas de terra firme na região amazônica. A interferência negativa de plantas daninhas é um fator que prejudica o crescimento das plantas e a produção de frutos nas lavouras em terra firme, exigindo a realização de controle periódico. O controle de plantas daninhas com herbicidas tem como vantagens obter eficácia de controle alta, menor custo, maior rendimento operacional e menor dependência de mão de obra. Os herbicidas seletivos controlam as plantas daninhas e não prejudicam o açaizeiro, contudo, são necessárias avaliações para o uso seguro dos herbicidas. Assim, este trabalho teve o objetivo de avaliar a seletividade dos herbicidas 2,4-D dimetilamina (670, 1005, 1340 e 1675 g), diuron (750, 1250, 1750 e 2250 g), fenoxaprop-p-ethyl (55, 82,5, 110 e 137,5 g), metribuzin (240, 480, 720, 960 g) e sulfentrazone (500, 750, 1000 e 1250 g). O experimento foi conduzido em condição de viveiro em vasos com plantas de açaizeiro, cultivar BRS Pai d’Égua, no estádio de cinco folhas completamente expandidas. O 2,4-D, diuron, metribuzin e sulfentrazone foram aplicados sob o dossel das mudas e o fenoxaprop-p-ethyl sobre as folhas. Todos os herbicidas em todas as doses foram seletivos para o açaizeiro, com fitotoxicidade considerada leve.
