Alternativas cirúrgicas de fechamento de fístula buco sinusal: revisão da literatura

Abstract

A comunicação buco-sinusal (CBS) consiste no espaço não fisiológico formado entre o seixo maxilar e a cavidade bucal, que, se não tratada, evoluirá para a fístula oroantral ou, ainda, doença sinusal crônica. Este artigo possui como objetivo realizar uma revisão da literatura acerca das alternativas cirúrgicas de fechamento de fístula buco-sinusal. Para a construção deste trabalho foi feito um levantamento bibliográfico nas bases de dados SciVerse Scopus, Scientific Eletronic Library Online (Scielo), U.S. National Library of Medicine (PUBMED) e ScienceDirect, utilizando o gerenciador de referências Mendeley. O cirurgião bucomaxilofacial praticante que trata pacientes com comunicações buco-sinusal deve estar familiarizado e competente com as várias opções de tratamento disponíveis. Múltiplas técnicas estão disponíveis, desde retalhos puramente de tecido mole, que provaram ser bem-sucedidos ao longo do tempo, até uma combinação de enxertos de tecido duro (autólogo, aloplástico ou aloenxerto), que podem ser úteis com o aumento da demanda por restaurações com implantes. Embora diferentes procedimentos tenham se mostrado bem-sucedidos, todos têm como premissa o tratamento de qualquer sinusite subjacente, que está associada a um risco maior de OAC recorrente.
