Abstract

La contaminación ambiental por residuos sólidos urbanos (RSU) como problema alarmante y creciente requiere del desarrollo de tecnologías novedosas para su reciclado y la construcción en ese sentido es central. El desarrollo propuesto, presenta la aplicación de un material compuesto (MC) de polímeros plásticos reciclados de distinto origen, reutilizando entre otros los films de Silobolsas, que hoy en día presentan tasas de reciclado menores al 10%. Se obtuvo a partir de este, un MC de características mecánicas suficientes y con un comportamiento similar al de maderas blandas o semi blandas. Su aplicación a la producción de perfilería de aberturas fue muy positiva, generándose prototipos que verificaron al desempeño Mínimo (M) o Intermedio (I) de la norma brasileña NBR 15575, en permeabilidad al aire y operaciones de manejo. Solo fue considerado como insuficiente, la estanqueidad de las mismas.
