Las rebeliones yaquis en el Porfiriato

Abstract

El presente estudio hace un recorrido histórico crítico con respecto a la situación de los Yaquis del norte del país durante el porfiriato. El trabajo expone los antecedentes históricos y políticos que llevaron a los Yaquis a rebelarse contra el régimen de Porfirio Diaz, así como las represiones que éstos sufrieron por no querer acatar el nuevo modelo de progreso que el gobierno promovía. La autora reflexiona acerca de la situación infrahumana en la que se vieron sometidos los Yaquis al ser mandados a los campos de henequén en Yucatán. A su vez, se analiza la imagen de personajes como Cajeme y Tetabiate, personajes que buscaron reivindicar sus pueblos.
