Abstract

O livro didatico continua sendo uma das principais fontes de informacoes cientificas usadas em sala de aula, tanto por professores quanto por alunos. O presente artigo faz uma abordagem de carater exploratorio de livros didaticos do PNLD/MEC, com o objetivo de investigar de que forma eles apresentam o tema classificacao dos seres vivos em relacao aos novos aportes da biologia molecular ao estudo de taxonomia. Selecionamos seis livros didaticos de biologia, integrantes das colecoes do PNLD 2018, que foram aprovadas para o uso regular no Ensino Medio das escolas brasileiras durante o trienio 2018, 2019 e 2020. Elaboramos uma ficha com quatro questoes para extrair as respostas de acordo com os conteudos presentes nos textos desses livros referentes a classificacao dos seres vivos e apuramos os resultados. Com raras excecoes, todos os livros atenderam positivamente aos quesitos perguntados. Destacamos a importância de uma ampliacao, contextualizacao e reestruturacao frequente dos conteudos dos livros didaticos, de modo a se permitir a inclusao de temas modernos, sobretudo nas areas em que o conhecimento cientifico avanca rapidamente.
