Abstract

Penumpukan limbah ikan pada pembuangan di pasar ikan mencemari lingkungan dan mengurangi estetika lingkungan. Pengolahan limbah ikan secara anaerob merupakan cara yang efisien karena mengandung protein, lemak dan konsentrasi bahan organik tinggi. Dengan nilai rasio C/N yang rendah limbah ikan harus dicampur dengan kotoran ternak atau tumbuhan hijau untuk menghasilkan gas metan yang lebih optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar kandungan kadar gas metan dan rasio C/N yang dihasilkan dari campuran kototan kambing (KK) dan limbah ikan (LI). Pada penelitian ini menggunakan variasi substrat kotoran kambing (KK) dan limbah ikan (LI) 80:20; 60:40; 50:50; 40:60; 20:80, dengan variasi waktu fermentasi selama 5 hari, 10 hari, 15 hari, 20 hari, dan 25 hari dan menggukan volume digester 19 liter. Parameter yang dianalisa antara lain rasio C/N, persentase kadar gas metan dan nyala api. Hasil menunjukkan biogas terbaik diperoleh pada variasi substrat KK:LI 80:20 dengan rasio C/N sebesar 20,52% dan menghasilkan kadar gas metan 54,81% dan dapat menyalakan api dengan waktu 24,7 detik.
