Dziennik Rut

Abstract

Dziennik Rut to poruszająca, ręcznie spisana relacja żydowskiej nauczycielki z Warszawy, obejmująca okres od lipca 1942 do lipca 1944 r. Rut opisuje życie w warszawskim getcie, dramatyczne warunki codziennego bytowania, akcje wysiedleńcze, ukrywanie się przed łapankami oraz śmierć bliskich. Po ucieczce na stronę aryjską wraz z ciężko chorym mężem doświadcza dalszych trudności, nieufności i zagrożenia ze strony szmalcowników oraz problemów z uzyskaniem schronienia. Po śmierci męża Rut przez dwa lata ukrywa się samotnie, żyjąc w ciągłym strachu i izolacji. Jej świadectwo stanowi ważny dokument historyczny, ukazujący losy warszawskich Żydów podczas Zagłady oraz psychologiczne konsekwencje długotrwałego ukrywania się.
