Abstract

La inseguridad es un componente de nuestras sociedades contemporáneas, y define muchos de los comportamientos sobre dónde vivir, dónde trabajar o con quién relacionarse. Estos sentimientos de inseguridad suceden en un contexto de creciente polarización social, especialmente en el contexto latinoamericano. El objetivo del artículo es combinar ambos atributos, a través del concepto de estructuras de sentimiento. Así, nos preguntamos si diferentes estructuras del sentimiento de inseguridad expresan o influyen en la estratificación social en México. Para ello, analizamos la Encuesta Nacional sobre Victimización y Percepción de la Seguridad Pública 2018 (INEGI), lo que nos permitió encontrar cuatro estructuras del sentimiento de inseguridad: el grupo de los confiados, el de los precavidos, el de los evasivos y el de los pasivos. Estas estructuras de sentimiento se vincularon estrechamente con diversas variables de estratificación socioespacial, lo que nos permitió asegurar que estamos ante un prometedor concepto para analizar los procesos actuales de estratificación social.
