Tuberculosis por M. bovis en humanos: una enfermedad desatendida

Abstract

La tuberculosis zoonótica, causada por Mycobacterium bovis y transmitida principalmente por productos lácteos no pasteurizados, es subdiagnosticada en México. Aproximadamente el 30% de la leche se vende sin pasteurizar, y la prevalencia de M. bovis en el ganado lechero es del 16%. Factores de riesgo incluyen el consumo de productos lácteos no pasteurizados, carne cruda y la exposición ocupacional. La prevención requiere la erradicación de M. bovis en el ganado y la pasteurización de lácteos, con la colaboración de los sectores de salud humana, animal y alimentaria.
