
The article actualizes the issue of employment’s digitalization in the field of labor relations. It was established that freelance is an innovative form of spreading the signs of gigeconomy and involving the population in economic activity. The term "freelancer" has been concretized in terms of the content and nature of the manifestation in the conditions of pandemics and gigeconomy. The main advantages of freelance as an employer (were identified as a tool for saving business costs, as: payment is made exclusively for the final result of the project (task), and not for hours spent at the workplace, expanding the range of professionals involved in the field activity; disappears the need for local location; the ability to save material and technical base, the cost of equipment, maintenance and maintenance of the office) and the employee (free, flexible schedule; the ability to work remotely; independence in choosing the field of activity, tasks, place of work; search for employers-customers and partners; reduction of costs and time for travel), and for the unemployed, who currently do not need to be officially employed to earn income. The analysis of the European employment market during the quarantine and post-quarantine period caused by the COVID-19 pandemic was carried out. Some aspects of popularization of virtualized employment among different segments of the population in Ukraine have been studied. Following the review of the prospects of freelance in the field of labor relations, recommendations have been identified that will enhance the effectiveness of its development in domestic practice, including: standardization of freelancers and platforms on which their work will be organized, encouraging domestic organizations to use advanced technologies in labor relations, creation and development of infrastructure and ecosystem of support and development of freelance, development of tools for selection of freelancers, development of specialized platforms, aggregators of job requests from customers and proposals from freelancers, legislative regulation of freelance relations.
