Abstract

Celem artykułu jest wskazanie na przemianę autorytetu politycznego Stefana Żółkiewskiego w autorytet naukowy. Za podstawę badań służą materiały archiwalne dotyczące postawy głównego bohatera oraz pracy w Komitecie Centralnym PZPR. Poprzez analizę działalności politycznej Żółkiewskiego (której głównym punktem są wydarzenia z Marca ’68) autor stara się wskazać, że wpływ badacza na uczniów i współpracowników był wynikiem nie tylko utraty pozycji politycznej, lecz także konsekwentnego wyboru aksjologicznego.
