Abstract

Latar Belakang: Aplikasi zat warna alam yang terdapat di dalam sayur atau buah-buahan dalam analisis logam dapat digunakan dengan tujuan mengurangi perncemaran terhadap lingkungan. Betanin merupakan salah satu zat warna yang diketahui berpotensi sebagai zat pengompleks di dalam analisis logam dengan metode spektrofotometri UV-Vis. Potensi betanin sebagai zat pengompleks disebabkan karena keberadaan logam dapat mempengaruhi kestabilan warna betanin dan menyebabkan efek batokromik atau hipokromik. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan sebagai studi pendahuluan penggunaan betanin sebagai senyawa pengompleks dalam analisis logam Pb menggunakan metode Spektrofotometri Uv-Vis.. Metode: Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan mereaksikan antara larutan Betanin dengan larutan Standar Pb, kemudian kompleks yang terbentuk diukur serapannya menggunakan Spektrofotometri Uv-Vis pada Panjang gelombang maksimumnya. Hasil: Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa dengan berbagai variasi konsentrasi larutan standar Pb, absorbansi dari kompleks Betanin-Pb sesuai dengan Hukum Lambert-Beer dan diperoleh persamaan garis Y = 0,0066x + 0,5388 dengan R2-0,9991. Kesimpulan: Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang diperoleh, diketahui bahwa Betanin dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif sebagai senyawa pengompleks pada analisis logam Pb dengan metode Spektrofotometri UV-Vis.
