
This article is founded on 426 investigated companies, dealing with road freight transport. The respondents were both from trucking companies, dealing exclusively with trucking and transport units of manufacturing enterprises which use transport as a supplementary activity [building industry, trade, agriculture, food processing industry, other industries, services]. Investigated companies were characterized according to the annual billing in Czech Crowns, number of transport vehicles, distance driven [km], size of served area and in selection of diesel fuel stations. Following this article is a second part which analyses managers’ decisions concerning purchasing of new vehicles [this part follows in this Collection].
