Abstract

O fórum LATINPHARMA (http://www.latinpharma.net) é um projeto desenvolvido desde 2001, nos países da América Central, Comunidade Andina das Nações, Mercosul e Chile, cujo objetivo central é promover o intercâmbio comercial de medicamentos e correlatos entre os países do cone Sul. Os produtos naturais foram incorporados ao projeto desde 2003, por intermédio de ações informativas voltadas às pequenas e médias empresas, para o melhoramento de suas atividades na cadeia produtiva. Em 2006, o LATINPHARMA foi realizado em Cartagena de Indias, Colômbia, entre 07-09 de Setembro. Durante a segunda metade do mês de Agosto, o Centro de Comércio Internacional da Organização Mundial do Comércio e pela Electronic Communication and Information Exchange - UNCTAD/OMC & ECIE, os patrocinadores do evento, promoveram um debate prévio ao evento principal, que ocorreu na forma de um Seminário Virtual sob o título de "El Mercado Brasileño de Medicamentos y Productos Naturales". O presente artigo contribuiu para compor o Módulo IV deste seminário virtual.
