Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan memodifikasi mesin pencampur pakan ternak untuk meningkatkan kualitas pencampuran bahan pakan ternak agar lebih merata dan waktu proses pencampuran menjadi lebih efisien. Selain itu, kontinuitas produksi dan ketersediaan pakan ternak lebih terjamin karena pembuatannya lebih mudah. Dengan melakukan metoda perbaikan pada mekanisme poros spiral, putaran wadah pakan yang dapat berputar berlawanan, dan komponen pengaduk pada bagian bawah untuk mencegah penggumpalan, maka mesin ini dapat mencampur bahan pakan ternak lebih merata. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa kualitas hasil pencampuran bahan pakan yang dihasilkan lebih merata dan proses lebih cepat, untuk satu kali proses pencampuran sebanyak 15 kg dicapai pada ≥ 6 menit, sedangkan untuk bahan pakan sebanyak 20 kg dicapai pada ≥ 8 menit. Waktu untuk satu kali proses pencampuran bahan pakan sebanyak 20 kg, mulai dari pemasukan hingga pengeluaran diperlukan waktu 15 menit atau kapasitas maksimum 80 kg/jam, sehingga penggunaan waktu pencampuran bahan pakan lebih efisien bila dibandingkan mesin sebelumnya.
