Abstract

Das Schwarze Slawonische Schwein (fajferica) ist ein autochthones kroatisches Schwein, das von Carl Pfeiffer auf seinem Anwesen in der Nähe von Osijek durch planmäßige Kreuzung der Rassen Schwalbenbauch Mangalica, Berkshire und Poland China geschaffen wurde. Es gehört zu der Gruppe der halbfetten Rassen. Es eignet sich für die halbintensive, extensive und biologische Haltung. Es hat eine sehr gute Fleischqualität und eignet sich für die Herstellung traditioneller Fleischprodukte (Kulen, Wurst, Schinken). Da es durch Kreuzung von Rassen entstanden ist, die von europäischen und asiatischen Wildschweinen abstammen, ist es die Quelle verschiedener Gene und geeignet für die biologische Vielfalt des Schweins (sus) als Art und im Allgemeinen.
