Abstract

Este ensaio é resultado das discussões ocorridas em um dos colóquios promovido pelo Instituto Cultural e Educacional Bernardo Élis para os Povos do Cerrado (Icebe), em abril de 2021, cuja proposta de diálogo foi os estigmas da escravidão presentes nas obras deste único goiano imortalizado pela Academia Brasileira de Letras. Foram três os pesquisadores convidados para expor suas análises e coube à coordenação uma breve e tímida revisão histórica sobre os negros e a escravidão em Goiás, que serviu, no colóquio, de introdução para as análises apresentadas e para contextualizar a história apreendida pelo próprio Bernardo Élis, que fez dela um campo fértil e propício para as denúncias das condições de vida humana no cerrado goiano, expondo os modos de ser no mundo através dos dramas de seus personagens. Com aporte nas pesquisas dos palestrantes — Teixeira (2020 e 2010), Curado, J (2020) e Barbosa (2020) —, nas referências bibliográficas sobre Bernardo Élis e suas obras, buscando a intersecção entre a vida humana sobre a Terra e a escrita resultante da imaginação e da arte (DARDEL, 2015), é que traçaremos algumas conjecturas sobre a escravidão em Goiás (PALACIN, 1981; SALLES, 1992; LOIOLA, 2009), suas marcas na história e na alma dos goianos, visibilizadas pela poética presente na literatura bernardiana.Palavras-chave.
