Fear of Missing Out dengan Nomophobia pada Mahasiswa

Abstract

Penggunaan smartphone pada mahasiswa mampu menyebabkan berbagai macam dampak negatif seperti perasaan cemas jika jauh dari smartphone. Mahasiswa mengalami perasaan cemas didasari rasa takut tertinggal informasi serta kegiatan yang orang lain lakukan, hal tersebut menimbulkan perasaan cemas jauh dari smartphone yang sering disebut nomophobia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat hubungan antara fear of missing out dengan kecenderungan nomophobia pada mahasiswa psikologi. dengan menggunakan total 147 responden yang berasal dari fakultas psikologi Universitas Bhayangkara. Metode yang dipergunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah korelasional dengan tujuan untuk melihat hubungan dari dua variabel yang diteliti, menggunakan SPSS versi 25. Hasil dari perhitungan uji korelasi R= 0.664, dengan tingkat signifikansi p= 0.00 (p<0.05). Hasil tersebut menunjukan bahwa fear of missing outberhubungan secara positif dengan nomophobia pada mahasiswa psikologi Universitas Bhayangkara. Saran bagi mahasiswa khususnya, agar mampu mengatur penggunaan smartphone sebagai upaya mencegah kecenderungan nomophobia yang akan berdampak buruk bagi kesehatan serta interaksi sosial, sehingga mahasiswa akan lebih mudah dalam berinteraksi serta memiliki perasaan yang tenang
