Abstract

Ekstrusi laminasi merupakan suatu proses yang dapat diterapkan pada bahan teknik jenis termoplastik/bahan polimer. Prinsip proses ekstrusi polimer memiliki cara kerja yang menyerupai dengan proses ekstrusi logam, hanya saja terdapat perbedaan dalam konstruksi mesin yang digunakan, dimana pemakaian sebuah ram diganti dengan sebuah screw. Proses yang dilakukan yaitu dengan menggunakan biji plastik Polyprophilene (pellet) sebagai bahan utama yang akan dimasukan kedalam sebuah hopper lalu didorong oleh sebuah screw dengan diameter 4 in dengan putaran 130 Rpm dengan laju sembur material sebesar 0,22 m/detik dan akan melewati pemanas yang memiliki daya 800 watt dengan jumlah kalor sebesar 405.000 joule dengan perkiraan waktu unutk menaikan suhu selama +- 8,,43 menit sampai menuju sebuah dies atau cetakan yang diinginkan. Hasil tersebut dapat berupa lembaran (sheet) atau blow film tergantung dengan cetakan (dies) yang digunakan dalam proses cetak.
