El valor de las estadísticas de bibliotecas públicas

Abstract

Partiendo de la importancia de las estadísticas de bibliotecas públicas que se recogen en España, analizamos en este texto su valor y utilidad, desde distintos puntos de vista en los que los autores nos hemos visto implicados en nuestra trayectoria profesional: el de los bibliotecarios, las asociaciones de bibliotecas y los investigadores. Finalmente, concluimos que son necesarias una serie de mejoras para aumentar la calidad de los datos, ponerlos en valor y lograr el compromiso de todos los implicados en la recogida, publicación y análisis de los datos.
