The traditional knowledge is integrated by different elements designed as "indigenous or tribal knowledge, folklore, traditional medicine knowledge, and others". Nowadays it is an essential need to know the existing regulations related to the intellectual property, genetic resources, traditional knowledge and folklore. In this work there are basic aspects related with the international discussion that takes place under the sponsorship of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
