La Guerra Cognitiva: Opción Estratégica Emergente en la Zona Gris de la Competición Geopolítica

Abstract

La guerra cognitiva se define como un conjunto de actividades destinadas a influir, modificar o controlar percepciones, emociones, actitudes, comportamientos y procesos de toma de decisiones con el objetivo de alterar las capacidades cognitivas de individuos y grupos para alcanzar una posición de ventaja estratégica sobre los adversarios sin necesidad de recurrir al uso directo de la fuerza. La guerra cognitiva, un concepto emergente donde se desdibujan los límites entre la guerra y la paz, se fundamenta en el uso de las ciencias neurocognitivas y otros avances científicos y tecnológicos, como la nanotecnología, la biotecnología o la robótica, para manipular y perturbar la cognición humana, un componente fundamental en el actual entorno de seguridad internacional. Este artículo presenta la guerra cognitiva como una opción estratégica al servicio de los intereses de poder y seguridad de diferentes competidores globales en un escenario internacional definido por la transformación y la creciente rivalidad geopolítica.
