CPM REX M3HCHS

CPM REX M3HCHS

Abstract

Abstract CPM REX M3HCHS is produced by the Crucible Particle Metallurgy process. Structurally it is characterized by its fine and uniform carbide and sulfide particle size. The control of manganese sulfide particle size and distribution permits increasing the sulfur content to at least double that found in resulfurized conventionally ingot-cast AISI Type M3-Type 2 thereby improving machinability and grindability without sacrifice of tool toughness. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity. It also includes information on heat treating and machining. Filing Code: TS-474. Producer or source: Crucible Specialty Metals Division, Colt Industries.
