Abstract W.W. HOT WORK is a chromium-tungsten hot-work tool and die steel containing nominally 1.05% vanadium. It is characterized by high strength and hardness at elevated temperature and good resistance to heat checking. It has high hardenability and can be hardened by quenching in salt or oil. Its many hot-work applications include extrusion dies for copper and brass, long-running die-casting dies, piercer points and punches. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: TS-420. Producer or source: Teledyne Vasco.
