Abstract Austral Wright 17-4PH (UNS S17400) is a precipitation hardening stainless steel which has extremely high strength and hardness, combined with good ductility and toughness. It has excellent corrosion resistance, approaching that of type 304 austenitic stainless steel. Designers and engineers often choose Austral Wright 17-4PH for its high strength, with corrosion resistance superior to most of the other high strength steels. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as casting, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-1352. Producer or source: Austral Wright Metals.
